In August, we added new capabilities that speed up recurring clinic work and make important information easier to find. Patient profile photos, WhatsApp template management, and AI-assisted treatment translations are among the highlights. We also improved online booking, documents, reporting, and exports.

🎉 Add and Manage Patient Profile Photos

Patient profile photos can now be added or removed from the profile icon in the patient list and from the icon at the top left of a patient record.

Profile photos help teams identify patients at a glance across the patient list and patient record.

🎉 Manage WhatsApp Templates in Medicasimple

WhatsApp message templates can now be updated directly inside Medicasimple. Teams can adjust template copy for new communication needs without leaving their everyday workspace.

Recurring patient messages are easier to maintain, and active templates can be kept up to date with less effort.

🎉 Translate Treatments with AI

Treatment names can now be translated into additional languages with AI assistance. Clinics that work with multilingual teams or international patients can create a clearer, more consistent treatment catalogue without preparing every translation from scratch.

The existing catalogue can be adapted to new languages more quickly, while the results remain available for review and editing in the familiar treatment area.

🎉 Search and Add Patient Addresses

Intelligent address search is now built into patient creation and editing. Teams can enter a full address or postcode, find the correct result in seconds, and automatically populate the relevant patient address fields.

This major improvement substantially reduces manual data entry for busy reception teams, helps prevent typing errors, and supports faster, more consistent and complete patient records. Every field remains available for review and editing before the record is saved.

🎉 Print Patient Barcodes

A new Print Barcode option is available from the three-dot menu in appointment details. Printing preferences are remembered for the next use, making repeat jobs faster.

🎉 Pending Appointments in the Patient Portal

The Patient Portal now includes a dedicated Pending Appointments section. Patients can see booking requests that have not yet been confirmed by the clinic in a separate area and follow their status more easily.

🎉 Separate Permission for Installment Payments

Access to the Installment Payments page can now be managed through a separate user permission. Clinic administrators can decide who can view this page independently of other payment permissions.

The additional control makes it easier to align access to financial workflows with each team member's role and responsibilities.

📱 Mobile Developments

🎉 Register Patients by Scanning ID with NFC

When creating a patient, teams can now scan an identity document with the camera and NFC. The details are transferred into the patient form, ready to review and save from the mobile app.

🎉 Patient Profile Photos on Mobile

Patient profile photos can now be uploaded or updated from the mobile app. Teams can keep the patient record current without leaving the profile workflow.

🎉 Address Search on Mobile

City and district searches are now available while adding or editing a patient on mobile. Selecting the relevant result makes patient addresses faster and more consistent to save.

🎉 Print Proformas from Mobile

A new Print Proforma option is available from the treatment plan menu. Teams can prepare and print the document directly from the mobile workflow.

✨ Last Month Date Shortcut

The date picker now includes a ready-to-use Last Month option. Monthly comparisons and recurring report checks can be opened without manually selecting a start and end date.

✨ More Flexible Clinical and Recall Workflows

The recall creation flow has been reorganised. Department and Assignee are now optional, with Exam and Hygiene shortcuts beside the title field.

✨ Date of Birth Across Document and Note Templates

A new Date of Birth parameter is now available in templates. Clinics can use it across estimates, invoices and patient notes to insert the patient's date of birth automatically into the document being prepared.

Teams no longer need to re-enter the same information for every document, helping them prepare accurate and consistent paperwork more quickly.

✨ Expanded Data Imports

Data imports now support custom forms, prescriptions, communication records, BPE data, and periodontal charts. When moving to Medicasimple, clinics can bring over a broader part of their clinical documentation through a structured process.

The additional import types reduce manual setup and help teams work with more complete patient information from the first day.

✨ Clearer Invoice and Receipt Workflows

Downloaded receipts now include the patient's name in the file name, making documents easier to identify and archive.

✨ Regional English Options

UK and US English options are now separated across the app, so clinics can use the language conventions that match their region.
