Image & File Upload
Why It Matters
Visual documentation is a vital part of dental care.
The Image & File Upload feature in Medicasimple allows you to securely store, view, and organize all patient-related visuals including X-rays, intraoral photos, treatment progress images, and lab results.
By centralizing every visual record in one place, your clinic ensures consistent tracking, easier communication between doctors, and clear before-and-after documentation for patients.
What You Can Do
Upload and manage X-rays, intraoral images etc.
View uploaded visuals in full screen with adjustable contrast and zoom.
Rename files or add brief notes for better organization.
Export all patient media in one click when needed for reports or referrals.
How It Works
1. Access the Media Tab
Open the patient’s profile and click on the Media tab in the top menu.
You’ll see two sections:
Upload Image or Document – where you can add new visuals.
Uploaded Documents – showing all existing files linked to this patient.
2. Uploading X-rays or Photos
To upload a new image:
Drag and drop your file directly into the upload box,
orClick “View Files” and select a file from your computer.
Once uploaded, the image will appear instantly in the Uploaded Documents section with its upload time and file name.
3. Viewing and Editing Images
Click on any image to open it in full screen view.
Use the toolbar to:
Adjust contrast
Zoom in/out for detail inspection
Add a note for contextual details (e.g., “Post-op photo – upper right molar”).
Rename the file to make it easily identifiable.

4. Exporting Patient Media
Click the “Export Patient Media” button to download all uploaded images as a single archive file.
This is useful for backups, referrals, or external lab communications.
💡 Best Practices
Always upload images immediately after X-ray or intraoral capture.
Use clear, consistent file names (e.g., “Before-Crown-Prep.jpg”).
Add short notes describing treatment stages (e.g., “Post-implant placement”).
Keep each patient’s visuals organized under their own profile; never mix files.
