IP Restriction
Why It Matters
Data security and access control are essential in multi-user clinic environments. With Medicasimple’s Allowed IPs feature, administrators can limit system access to specific IP addresses, ensuring that users can log in only from trusted networks such as the clinic or designated work locations. This helps prevent unauthorized logins and strengthens patient data protection.
How It Works
You can manage IP restrictions under Settings › User Settings › Allowed IPs.
Open the Allowed IPs screen.
Select the user whose access you want to restrict.
Find their IP address by searching “What is my IP” in their browser.
Paste the address into the IP field and press Enter. The IP will appear in the list.
Add more IPs for the same user if needed, pressing Enter after each one.
Click Save to apply changes.
If you want all users to access Medicasimple only from the clinic network, enter your clinic’s IP address in the top field, click Add to All, and then Save.

Best Practices
Restrict system access to your clinic’s secure network to reduce external threats.
Periodically review the IP list and update it if the clinic’s internet provider changes.
Combine IP restriction with User Permissions to ensure multi-layered access control.
Benefits for Clinics
Enhanced security by preventing off-site or unauthorized logins.
Centralized control over user access points.
Compliance-friendly for clinics following data protection and privacy standards.
