Advanced Treatment Planning

Why It Matters

Treatment planning is one of the most critical elements of modern clinical management. It’s where medical accuracy meets patient communication and financial transparency.

With Advanced Treatment Planning, Medicasimple allows clinics to go far beyond basic procedure listings; creating structured, multi-stage, and patient-centric plans that combine medical, financial, and consent details in one unified workflow.

This feature helps clinics:

  • Build detailed treatment roadmaps for each patient

  • Combine multiple procedures, doctors, and payment methods

  • Present clear cost breakdowns and payment options

  • Automatically connect with consent forms and payment modules

  • Track plan progress, approvals, and financial outcomes in real time

The result: a transparent, professional experience that patients trust; and teams can manage effortlessly.

How It Works

1. Creating a New Treatment Plan

Go to a patient’s profile → Treatment Plans → Add Treatment Plan.
Enter a plan title (e.g., Full Mouth Rehabilitation), select the responsible doctor, and add one or more treatments from your existing procedure library.

You can specify for each item:

  • Treatment name and code

  • Unit cost and quantity

  • Currency type (USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, etc.)

  • Assigned doctor or department

  • Expected duration or session grouping

Plans can include both medical and cosmetic procedures, letting you structure phased or ongoing cases clearly for both staff and patients.

2. Cost Structuring, Discounts & Multi-Currency Support

Each plan supports multi-currency billing, allowing flexibility in international or cross-branch practices.
Clinics can add:

  • Discounts (fixed or percentage-based)

  • Insurance coverage amounts

  • Installment or payment plan options

When combined, these details give patients a transparent view of their total financial responsibility; avoiding confusion later in the payment process.

3. Linking with Consent Forms and Online Payments

Advanced Treatment Planning directly integrates with Configurable Consent Forms and Payment Records.
After creating the plan, you can:

  • Send a digital consent form for patient approval (via SMS or in-clinic signature)

  • Collect partial or full online payments immediately

  • Automatically reflect approved treatments and payments in financial dashboards

Once confirmed, the plan status changes to Approved, and linked records appear under both Patient Profile → Payments and Reports → Financial Reports.

4. Updating and Managing Plans Over Time

You can edit any treatment plan at any stage; whether it’s adding a new item, adjusting a cost, or marking a procedure as completed.

Each update is version-controlled, showing when and by whom a change was made.

If a treatment is postponed or cancelled, you can archive or duplicate the plan without losing the original data.

This ensures both clinical and financial histories remain complete and auditable.

Reports & Insights

Every treatment plan feeds into Medicasimple’s reporting ecosystem:

  • Conversion Tracking: See how many proposed plans were accepted or declined

  • Doctor Performance: Compare total treatment values per provider

  • Revenue Forecasting: Estimate upcoming income from accepted or pending plans

  • Outstanding Balances: Instantly view unpaid or partially paid treatments

Export these reports to Excel for financial reviews or management meetings.

Best Practices

  • Keep your treatment names and pricing consistent across branches.

  • Always attach relevant media or radiographs to the plan to support case presentation.

  • Combine treatment planning with installment payment options for high-value procedures.

  • Use consent integration for clear patient approval before proceeding.

  • Regularly review plan acceptance rates to improve communication and case presentation.

For Multi-Doctor Clinics

In clinics with multiple providers, each doctor can have their own treatment entries, pricing, and earning percentages within a shared plan.

This ensures fair and transparent revenue sharing, and links directly with Doctor Earning by Treatment reports.

Managers can quickly see:

  • Which doctor performed which procedure

  • How much has been billed and paid

  • Remaining amounts owed for each treatment

Permissions

Only users with Treatment Plan Management rights can create or edit plans.
All clinic staff can view patient-approved plans according to their role permissions.
